Gender Bender represents the fluidity of gender, focussing on enforcing masculinity through femininity. Many moons ago, it was considered perfectly acceptable for a man to wear a skirt, or dress in more ‘feminine’ fabrics such as lace. Years of becoming more ‘masculine’ after, menswear has resigned to just pants and a shirt, regarding the details in womenswear as ‘girly’. With the rise of acceptance towards the LGBTQ+ community, gender fluidity has not only become a trend, but a moral obligation by the masses. With the womenswear market booming, experimenting with masculine silhouettes, the only thing standing between the menswear market is a big fat “Why Not?”.
