The new ‘it’ colour is here and it’s dominating the catwalk, streets and stores… PINK!
The pink trend started to show itself at the end of last year making small appearances through street style and has escalated taking over the A/W 17 fashion week catwalks not just in clothing but in hair, make up and accessories too. Punchy, full pink head to toe outfits were created by H&M, Paul Smith, House of Holland and Mary Katrantzou.
The beauty of this pink trend is that absolutely anybody can make it work, pink is no longer just a sweet, girly shade. If your style is more tomboy, sport an oversized, pink denim jacket with a vintage t-shirt and deep magenta, ripped jeans. Although originally pink was seen as a female only colour, the rise in androgynous fashion and breaking down gender stereotypes has resulted in pink dominating mens catwalks too. Men are no longer afraid or embarrassed to wear shades of pink as they embrace their femininity and masculinity and are confident to wear what they want.
Pink completely stole the show throughout fashion week, from baby pinks to strong fuchsias, elegant gown dresses to bomber jackets and short shorts you couldn’t miss it. The pink trend isn’t going away anytime soon.
